But Sydney, you may say, why would I write what I just wrote all over again? It took me a while to write it the first time! Isn’t this just a waste of time?
I see your point, Writer, but I am here to tell you that the only way to achieve the smooth, conversational tone of good writing is to physically rewrite every word, again and again.
I know it’s a lot of work, and, yes, you can revise without rewriting. However, once you see the difference it makes in your writing, I promise you will never want to go back to the old way.
