About Me
Sydney Frances has always known that writing is her true passion, but long struggled with the confidence to make it her career.
I was always writing - during class in high school and college, and in all my free time. I filled up notebooks and planners with ideas; I started countless novels that I did not have the courage to finish. I believed the lie that others had told me - that it was impossible to “make it” as a writer. I let doubt and the fear of failure control my dreams of being published.
It wasn’t until I learned how to control and overcome that fear that I could take my writing seriously. I dedicated myself to what I knew to be my true calling.
That’s when I decided to start Novel Stories. I thought there must be others out there who, like me, believe in themselves but also have moments of crippling doubt. Fear is a very real antagonist in all of our lives, and I think for writers it is particularly powerful. We bleed on paper - writing in itself is an exercise in vulnerability. Fear of that kind of rejection alone is enough to deter some writers from ever turning their passion into their career.
I am here to share my experience and the tools I have accumulated throughout my own journey to take my writing more seriously. I have taken the information I’ve read in countless books and articles, as well as my own experiences writing fiction, and condensed it - a one-stop shop for all the questions you might have throughout your journey. My goal is to empower other writers who experience the same doubt and fear I have long struggled with myself so they may continue on their journey to becoming someone’s favorite author.
